Mt. Biking - Downhill and X-Country

The Golden area, just east of Heather Mountain Lodge, features some excellent opportunities for downhill and x-country bike riding. Keep in mind that bikes are not permitted on many of the trails within the National Parks.

Downhill: Mount 7 Session shuttles riders and their bikes up Mt. 7, every hour on the hour, seven days a week. Pick-up is at Reflection Lake parking lot, just off Hwy. 95 near the south entrance to the town of Golden. Call 250-344-7384, www.session7.ca
At Kicking Horse Mountain Resort you can catch a gondola ride up to the top of hundreds of well maintained downhill trails - The longest vertical lift access trail in North America! :

www.kickinghorseresort.com X-country: The Dawn Mountain and Moonrakers trails provide excellent single track. Access Moonrakers by driving 10 km up the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Rd. and turning left to Cedar Lake. Dawn Mountain trails start at a parking lot 1 km past the KHMR Ski Lodge.
