Reflection Lake Bird Sanctuary is a nice
place to stop for a picnic and observe birds, ducks and swans. It is very
close to Jita's Cafe (10th St. S) and Overwaitea grocery
store, just head south on 10th Ave. S, and take the first right after the
overpass on the outskirts of the town. Golden has a network of Rotary
Trails that are easy and accessible. The main trail is a loop,
try starting at the Municipal Campground, by the Timber
Frame Pedestrian Bridge or by the Golden & District Museum. The entire
loop is 8.8 km around the southern perimeter of town, but it never takes
you very far from the downtown area.
