The area around Golden and Heather Mountain Lodge presents many opportunities for fishing trout, salmon, char and barbot. Choose a lake or a river to explore on your own or hire a guide to find help you find the type of fishing you prefer. Get around on foot, rent a boat or even try heli-fishing to get to the most pristine areas - enjoying a fantastic bird's eye view of the mountains along the way. Heather Mountain Lodge in conjunction with Great-Canadian Heli-Hiking can provide you with a guide and A-Star helicopter to seek out the ultimate fishing spots that would normally be inaccessible.

Some fishing spots that you can drive to in the area include: Esplanade Bay/Kinbasket Lake, Quartz Lake, Gorman Lake, Blackwater Lake, Comfort Lake, Susan Lake, Cedar Lake and Mitten Lake. Many of the these lakes are off the beaten path, accessible only via logging roads but have BCFS recreation sites on them, car-top boat launches and campsites.
